Privacy

This is a short page, because this site does very little.

It sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. It has no forms, no accounts and no database. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you are not being asked to consent to anything.

What the site itself collects

Nothing beyond what is technically unavoidable when a web server answers a request.

Server log files

Our web server records each request in a log file:

• the requesting IP address
• the date and time of the request
• the page or file requested
• the browser and operating system reported by your browser (user agent)
• the referring page, if your browser sent one

Purpose and legal basis. Operating and securing the service — delivering pages, detecting and investigating attacks or abuse, and counting requests per page to see which content is used. Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website.

That last part is a count of requests, not of people. No visitor is identified, no request is linked to any other, and the IP address is not used for it.

Retention: 7 days, after which log files are deleted automatically. This is enforced by log rotation on the server, not by intention.

This data is never combined with any other source, and there is no profiling.

No analytics, no tracking, no cookies

We do not measure visitors. There is no analytics software, no counter, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, and no cookie of any kind — not even a "necessary" one. The site contains no JavaScript at all.

Nothing is stored on or read from your device, so § 25 TDDDG does not apply.

No third-party requests

Every page loads entirely from hingepoint.ai. Fonts, stylesheets and images are served by us; nothing is fetched from a content delivery network, a font service, a video platform or a social network. Your browser does not contact any third party while reading this site.

Links to external sites are ordinary links. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to click one.

Processors

Three, and no others.

Hosting

Strato AG, Berlin, operates the server on which this site runs, and therefore processes the log files described above on our behalf. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place. Servers are in Germany.

Email

Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd provides the mailbox behind authors@hingepoint.ai (Microsoft 365). Mail you send us is processed there. Microsoft's Data Protection Addendum and its standard contractual clauses apply, and Microsoft's EU Data Boundary keeps Exchange Online content within the EU. Microsoft is a subsidiary of a US parent company.

Domain and DNS

GoDaddy operates the domain registration and the DNS records, and administers the Microsoft 365 tenant. DNS records are not personal data.

There is no analytics provider, no content delivery network, no newsletter service and no advertising network, because the site uses none of those.

If you write to us

The addresses published on this site are ordinary mailboxes. If you write to one, we process your message and your address in order to deal with it — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the exchange concerns steps taken at your request, and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise, our legitimate interest in answering correspondence.

We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to handle the matter and to meet any retention obligations, and then delete it.

Training providers. Where an organization applies to become a Hingepoint trainer, publication of its name, logo, contact address and description on Training rests on the written agreement concluded with that organization.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21).

Honestly, though: unless you have written to us, we almost certainly hold nothing about you. There is no account, no profile and no record of your visit beyond a log line that is deleted within seven days, and we cannot identify you from it. A request for access will usually return nothing, and that is not an evasion — there is genuinely nothing there.

Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For our location that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.

Changes

If this site ever starts processing more than it does today, this page changes first, and the change is deliberate rather than incidental.
